First Public Screenshot Release of Super Space Trooper™

On some very kind advice from a fellow named ‘recurv’ over on reddit, (see the reddit post), I have decided to put up my first publicly released screenshot of Super Space Trooper.  ‘recurv’ was kind enough to do an Ask Me Anything post on reddit where he’s allowing anyone to ask him anything about his experience with the process of developing independent games and releasing them to Sony’s PlayStation Network.  ‘recurv’ has also posted his own blog on the topic, so head over to the FuturLab Pitch to Sony blog post if you want to check that out.  Very informative and well written.

As you may or may not know, while this blog is just a few days old, I’ve actually been working pretty hard on the game for the past 6+ months.  To that end, here is my first screenshot from the game.  Perhaps it’s a bit premature to do this since really the level shown doesn’t have much to it yet, but since this site is so new I need to get some images up and I can use this on the homepage.

Comments or suggestions based on the screenshot are more than welcome.  I know it’s not much to go on, but I’d love to hear some feedback on what you think.  Please note that I will be enhancing the “Lives” text and “Health” text so that they’re more visible on all backgrounds.  This image was running at a low resolution, so much of the screen real estate has been taken up by icons.  SD and HD won’t appear as cluttered.

Tell me what you think! :)
